The Indies: An Animated Short is a Hip-Hop animation project from DJ Tony Drake and Blue Geek Music. With help from our backers, we were able to raise over $50,000 to bring this project to life. We plan on using this short to show Hollywood that we want to see this turned into a full length series! There are only six days left in our Kickstarter and we've been able to raise over $30K in less than 30 days which is amazing! But we still need your help. All that being said, I have some great news for everyone. I am extremely happy to announce that we have been approached by Voystick Studios to create a mobile VR game compatible with GearVR, Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive. The reason they're interested in doing this venture is because of you. This opportunity would have never materialized without you believing in us and showing your support. As long as we're able to get fully funded, Blue Geek Music and Voystick Studios will team up to bring you an alpha version of The Indies: A VR Experience. Every backer will receive a downloadable copy of the game in addition to their already purchased rewards. Voystick will be doing the game development and I'll be writing the storyline as well as overseeing the art direction. Hip Hop Action comes to GearVR, Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive in 2018 as DJ Tony Drake brings his creation The Indies to Virtual Reality. The Indies comes alive in a high octane, Hip-Hop music powered Arcade Shooter built by Voystick Studios of Indianapolis, IN. Voystick thinks The Indies will take people on a wild ride mixing cool animation with dope music. In fact, we liked the idea of a self funded cartoon making it onto the airwaves so much, that we've partnered with them to build a VR based Arcade Shooter to boost their signal. Specializing in voice activated VR & AR applications/games, Voystick is a subsidiary of GlassHand VR (the country's first African-American led Virtual Reality company). Both companies were founded by Richard Bottoms who is a former Bay Area resident now working to bring tech opportunities to non-traditional locales. The Indies looks to be a lot of fun. It's an honor and a pleasure to boost the efforts of DJ Tony Drake to bring Hip-Hop and Sci-Fi action to a mass audience.
